Traveling
An adventure awaits you!
Let us know!
When traveling abroad or even out of the region, you may experience unwanted debit card declines. Let us know so we can help prevent valid transactions from being blocked.
Sign in to online banking or open the Charis Bank mobile app to notify us of your travel plans with just a couple of clicks. All you need to know is your travel dates and the regions you plan to visit. You can also contact us directly to let us know your travel plans.
Click or press the ellipsis (...) on the Card Management tile to get started.

If you are using Advanced Card Controls, be sure that international transactions are unblocked.
Order Foreign Currency
If you provide us at least two weeks notice, we'd be glad to order foreign currency for you! And let us know when you're back if you'd like to exchange your foreign currency back to US Dollars. Charges may apply, and there is a minimum of $300 in currency value. Only bills can be exchanged; we will not be able to exchange foreign coin into US Dollars.
Traveling tips from our staff
When traveling internationally, I always sign in to the Secretary of State website and see if there are any travel warnings and also to register my trip so the embassy has a record of me being in the country and how to get a hold of me.

Before your trip, consider downloading the mobile app for the airport that you're flying to, especially if you are flying into a non-USA or large USA airport. They often have a map of the airport, as well as any other useful information specific to that airport such as available ground transportation, restaurants, etc.

Use a reputable ATM to withdrawal cash. Usually exchange rates are lower than at commonly used international spots like markets or the airport.

Learn a few words of the local language if it's different than your own. It helps you really experience the culture and people usually take very kindly to it.
